Frequently Asked Questions
How are the colours selected?
The choice of colours depends on your skin tone and the colour of your hair and eyes. With the assistance of the practitioner, suitable colours are selected in order to find the best and most natural match.
What are the pigments used?
Most of the Pigments used are Iron Oxide and Titanium Dioxide, a safe non-reactive substance. The Pigments are specifically manufactured for implantation into human skin. A coloured powder is suspended in a solution of distilled water, alcohol and glycerine, which results in a smooth, fine, creamy liquid. The colours range from very light o very dark. We use colours imported from four reputable manufacturers in the USA, all tested and proven for over 30 years. Product ingredients are listed on our bottles.
How many treatments are needed?
Two treatments are usually needed, at 6 weeks apart, depending on skin and lifestyle.
What should I expect after the treatment?
Immediately after treatment, the colour will appear darker than your chosen shade. This is because the pigment takes around seven days to enter the deeper layers of the skin/. After 7-10 days, exfoliation takes place. The top layer of the skin peels off, leaving a softer, lighter colour below. The result is a natural looking enhancement. As the treated area is settling down, itching may occur. This is a good sign as it means the skin is healing. Apply the recommended ointment to the treated area as recommended.
How long will the treatment last?
The healing differs from person to person, There are several physiological factors that help determine the average speed, healing time, and effectiveness of the healing process.
They include:
- Age
- Skin Type – dry skin tends to hold the pigment for longer than oily skins.
- Some very oily skin don't hold pigment very well
- Hormonal imbalances
- How Easily Or Severely You Swell And/Or Bruise
- Diet
- Stress
- Diabetes – Diabetic individuals show a documented impairment in the healing of acute wounds.
- Smoking – Smoking causes a delay in wound healing.
- Excessive Physical Activity
- Exposure To Sunlight
- Medications – Some medications may interfere with response to inflammation, platelet function, and an ability to form clots, significantly affecting healing.
Cosmetic Tattoo is a 2 (sometimes 3) step process, after the first treatment you will need to come back for a perfecting top up treatment in 6 weeks.
This treatment is to touch up any pigment loss after the initial healing process. It is essential to do this treatment to extend the life of your brows.
Feathering/Hair strokes - you may need a 12 month refreshment treatment done, all dependant on the individual skin and desired result.

No swimming, no exercise and caution when showering so they don’t get wet. You MUST not pick your eyebrows as they are healing.
The longevity of the tattoo is highly dependant on you following the aftercare instructions.
Will the treatment hurt?
Anaesthetics are used to numb the treatment area pre and during the procedure.
Will I be able to return back to work the next day?
Yes. Most clients show little sign of redness after treatment. The colour will be quite dark at first. It will soften and lighten within 10 days.
Is there a risk of infection?
There is a minimal risk of infection as strict hygiene standards are maintained. Sterile blades from sealed packets are used once only. To prevent cross contamination, the technician wears sterile gloves and all equipment is sterile. Strict after care rules are given to the client at the end of each treatment.
Do I have to shave all my hair off?
No, your eyebrow hair will not be affected by the treatment. The hair outside of the desired eyebrow shape will be the only hair plucked out.
How long does it take?
You need to allow 2 hrs for our treatment
